Ten Steps to a Virtual Survival Guide
Have a Schedule. It’s important to have a schedule, both to work, help you children with their work and take breaks. Create a schedule that fits your life.
Take a Shower. I know this one seems obvious, but it’s really easy to fall into the trap of “i’m not leaving the house so there is no need to shower. Take a shower, wash your hair you will feel better.
Get Dressed. We all love our yoga pants and our PJ’s and as tempting as it it to wear them all day long. Change your clothes, get dressed you will feel better and will want to connect with people.
Create a Designated Workspace. When you work everywhere you don’t have a psychological break that you need, because everything feels like work. Create an area that you like and do your work there.
Take Breaks. Human beings have a short attention span and need frequent break, so take them when you need them.
Exercise. Go for a run, a walk or do a quick online exercise reset. It will clear your mind and keep you healthy.
Check in. Video call your friends and your coworkers. We are all struggling to keep our sanity. It helps to know that you are not alone.
Take You Social Life Virtual. Just because you can go out with your friends and coworkers does not mean that you can’t connect. Virtual lunch, coffee and happy hours are not a thing.
Have Fun. This is a very very stressful time for everyone find something that makes you laugh and do it. My family and I had a random dance party the other night it was a blast.
Be Human. Leadership starts with Self. Recognize that we are all Human and struggling in our own ways. Have empathy.
